I can insert any of them separately, and I can make any glyph to be inserted instead of any letter, but I haven't found any way of merging two glyphs together into a new one (for example aogonek from a and ogonek). The next step is to use the Pen tool to make a generic A Glyph in our document. You can use the Glyphs panel to create a set of commonly used glyphs, making it easy to access the special characters and symbols you use most frequently. I'm trying to construct them, by merging two glyphs - a letter and ogonek or acute accent, which are provided by my font. Open the drop-down that says Path and change it to Shape. Once you have selected the Pen Too l, go to the Top Left corner of your window. Click the Pen Tool in the Toolbar, or press P. It may be standardized across fonts from one vendor (as Adobe does), and it may be deliberately controlled by the font developer, or seemingly arbitrary depending on the order they designed the glyphs in. The FontSelf extension actually makes that quite easy. Name it, click OK, then add glyphs to your set by Ctrl/right-clicking on a chosen glyph and selecting Add To Your Set. You can also create a custom glyph set: select New Glyph Set from the fly-out menu, or Ctrl/right-click on the Glyphs panel. The order to which glyphs are assigned Glyph IDs (GIDs) is essentially arbitrary. The Glyphs panel automatically stores your last 10 recently used glyphs at the top of the panel. If you're unfamiliar with GID ordering, a few more words may be in order. (Some operating systems and font management applications have similar functionality.) Sometimes you want to quickly liven up an Adobe InDesign layout without the need for creating custom images in Illustrator or Photoshop or having to track do. Make sure your slab is a consistent thickness by placing your Sculpey between two flat wood strips and flattening the clay to the thickness of the strips.

Either way, one can also filter to display only specific Unicode ranges such as Latin Extended B or Cyrillic. Create an 8 inch x 8 inch slab using a polymer clay such as Sculpey. In order to help myself remember the most common ones, I decided to make a list of those that I use daily and make a single A4 printable cheat sheet, so I can always have them ready on my desk when I don’t remember them. In InDesign CS3 and later, the default is to display them in Unicode order, though one can optionally change to Unicode order. Remembering all the keyboard shortcuts there are in InDesign is almost impossible: the latest InDesign version contains 407 shortcuts in total. Prior to InDesign CS3, the glyphs were displayed in the same physical order they happen to be stored in the font (GID/CID order). In Adobe InDesign, there's a Glyph Panel that allows you to view all the glyphs in a font, and insert ay glyph into your text.
